I had a dream last night that Mulder left the X Files by turning into a vampire and chasing Scully up and down through an apartment building with his vampire cohort. Scully eventually had to dismember Mulder with a big ol knife.
I’m really in a pixel mood so I’d do dungeon crawl things but I’m not so motivated because I left the file on Alex’s computer which is annoying even though it’s not a big deal at all so I want to work on dat texture pack but I think it needs to be more unified so it’ll look nice which means I should do a … theme … or something hmmmmmmmm
I’m going to ask a question of my followers tonight out of pure curiosity and you can answer this through whatever means you’d like (reply to the post, reblog, whatever).
I’ve been reading a lot of book reviews tonight (it’s a late night pastime of mine shhh), and a lot of people seem to dislike certain characters for not living up to what they believe is a proper “protagonist”. Namely, they don’t seem to like characters who come off as jealous, hateful, or whatever other negative words you can think of. (Mind, I don’t believe that all people think like this. Just the majority of reviews I’ve browsed through tonight have been like this.)
What is a story protagonist to you? Is it a character who is the typical definition of “good”; as in, your typical story hero (general do-gooder, like helping old ladies across the street and trying to save others, stuff like that)? Or is it someone who believes they’re doing “good”? Maybe they’re something much greyer than that?
There’s no wrong answer, really! I’m really just curious as to what others have to say.
